At 18 years old Lykez, from Finsbury Park, has already been writing, recording and performing for six years. In 2005 she went to Atlanta with London Urban Collective, recorded with Malachi of The Dungeon Family and showcased for Big Boi's Purple Ribbon label.
She recently completed an album in Mali, Africa with Akala, Bashy, Kele Le Roc, Silverstone and others on a project called Routes to Rootz funded by Bigga Fish.
In the UK, her debut single "Tryna Get to Da Booth" has been played on Choice FM (Phoebe One), BBC Asian Network (Foreign Beggars), Kiss (Logan Sama) and BBC Radio One (Zane Lowe and Rob Da Bank).
Live she's supported Method Man / Redman and Roll Deep, performed Glastonbury, Rise, Hip Hop Kemp and Astoria and has plenty more lined up for 2009.
