Formed around the London musical landmark Eel Pie Island, Mystery Jets' music won fans and plaudits alike for its ramshackle, psychedelic folk nostalgia and pop sensibility. They've also worked with Errol Alkan as producer and have explored a more 80s influenced sound. The band once put on a tribute show to Syd Barrett (one of their biggest influences) at the Union Chapel in Islington, London. Performers included Kid Harpoon, Lupen Crook, Kate Nash, the Television Personalities, Drew from Babyshambles and Mystery Jets. Not since the Partridge Family was there a more famous cross- generational band, as dad Henry Harrison and son Blaine record (and formerly gig) together.
